Good Times in April

Haven't been keeping with my blog in awhile! Since Spring has sprung, baseball has begun, we've been on the move, out and about and playing around!

In a nutshell....before picking Taylor up for the Easter Break, we met up with Drew, Les, Vasi and David in Santa Cruz for a weekend of walks, good food, little wine, playing card games, more walks and lots of laughs!
Les can make the Pupu's!! YUMMY!!!!
Walking out to the Lighthouse!
Les, Drew, Vasi, David, Me and Dick
Made it out to the second Lighthouse the following day!
Love the look and feel of boats on water!
For the Easter break, we picked Taylor up and headed to Visalia to spend the time with Dick's parents. We planned on staying with Amy a few days in Huntington Beach but decided we needed to do LESS driving and more connecting in with Jane and Bill. Jane was able to take Taylor to all of the places she wanted to take her grandson - the Children's Library, cemetery, grocery shopping, and just plain hanging out with him. Seems like most visits we are always on the go or during times when the Library was closed so this was great!
The highlight to Taylor was when we went on a hike with his Uncle David. We drove up to Three Rivers, had lunch and headed into the Sequoia National Park - it is only about 1 hour from Visalia!!
Snow on the mountain, green hills, flowers, sunshine and water flowing!
Our kind of hike!
We followed the river and made our way down to it!
This magical spot was awaiting!
Let's just sit here and take it in
like Frederick the Mouse!!
Down by the river, these rocks are HUGE!
On April 17 Gabby had her 3rd birthday!! That is 21 in 'human years'!! We thought about taking her to Vegas - our family tradition - but at the last minute, decided against it. Instead, we bought her a special doggy treat, put her birthday hat on and sang the birthday song. I think her favorite was the treat!
See, don't think she liked this part!
hahahaha
Giving the special treat!
Should I eat it?
We recently made our way over to Napa - again - to pick up some wine, enjoy the Sunday drive and have dinner at our favorite - Bistro Don Giovanni's. The vines were just sprouting out their green! An exciting time in this amazing wine country!!

This was taken at our favorite - Robert Biale Winery.
We've also been enjoying BASEBALL SEASON!!! Taylor is playing for his school. Taylor's team is a combination of his 5th grade boys and the 6th grade boys so the skill level has increased quite a bit!! It is really good for the 5th graders to see how it is REALLY done! They are winning more games this year and Taylor is stepping it up! He made contact with the ball, stopped a few balls in his last game AND caught a fly ball!! YEAH!!
Looking SHARP Taylor!!
Of course we are watching and cheering on the GIANTS too!! We've been able to attend two games so far and a few more are scheduled. Everyone LOVES Tim Lincecum, our #1 pitcher so the games have been SUPER exciting to watch and attend. It was my step-dad's bday so we all went to a game and thankfully enough - Lincecum was the pitcher AND we WON!!! It is always a lot more fun that way! hahaha
Celebrating Frank's Birthday with my Mom
at the ball park!!
Still lovin', livin' and learnin' along the way.... We strive to keep it all in perspective, thanking God every day.
