Weekend Wrap Up

Memorial Day Weekend in Santa Cruz!

How many years have these 12 families been meeting in Santa Cruz? 18!!!!

Amazing!

Now, they all have children - even graduating from high school and college!! 3 houses in Aptos, lots of food, drinks, laughter, prayer, sunshine, love, friendships, sharing, and LOVING LIFE!!

Children of the crazy parents!! hahaha

I've come to realize.....I am a beach person! You know those emails that ask, "Beach or Mountains"?  Well, it has been confirmed.....BEACH BEACH BEACH!!!  I realize I really do GAIN energy from the ocean. In the mountains, I feel like I am DRAINED of energy! So, there we have it.....confirmation - the BEACH is where it's at!!  (Thankfully, Dick agrees!)

We had an afternoon FULL of sun on Sunday (after all of the children prayed for it during our 'church service')  Dick rented boogie boards and wet suits for me and Taylor and we played in the waves for 2 hours!! We were able to ride some GREAT ones!!! WOOT WOOT!! 

Dick and the guys (and growing kids) played the annual basketball game and really enjoyed the time together.

Taylor's only complaint was it was toooooooo short of a weekend and that we only get together with this group once a year! 

Our good friends David and Vasi stayed at the house in SF and had a good time with Gabby, Chestnut Street , Union Street and all that the neighborhood had to offer.  Gabby was happy to be treated with 'ROYALTY' and I think David and Vasi got pretty attached to her.

One of the CRAZIEST things that happened was that a Sea Lion lost its way and ended up in our driveway in Santa Cruz!! YIKES!! We called an 'Animal Rescue Team' and a nice lady placed her in a crate and took her to a safe place where they will nurse her back and place her back in the ocean at some point.

Now, we prepare for The Heatherly's arrival to SF!!! They will be with us Monday and Tuesday night for a mini vacation! They will see WICKED tomorrow night - and we know they will enjoy that!! 

I'll post some pics later, for now, I try to keep my eyes open until they arrive.
